Let's Reset City Hall!
Let’s reset City Hall.
My name is Fayaz Nawabi and I am a progressive Democrat running for San Diego City Council District 6.
As your Councilmember, I will:
Repair streets and sidewalks, and reduce traffic congestion.
End our city’s affordable housing crisis and address the homeless crisis.
Prioritize more transit options, and achieve our City’s climate goals.
I am also a former elementary school teacher who has lived and worked in District 6 for over a decade, where I have served in many ways at a grassroots level, organizing community from sport leagues, to School Board meetings, to City Council Meetings to get involved and speak on issues that affect our community.
I earned my degree in Public Administration with a minor in City Planning at SDSU, where I developed a clear understanding of the solutions we need to issues outlined above, and more.
While at SDSU, I was also elected to serve as the VP of Intercultural Affairs, where I advocated for minority and economically disadvantaged students on campus. I also currently serve on the Trustee Advisory Council for the San Diego Community College District, which serves over 100,000 students each year.
As your Councilmember, I pledge to continue to stand up for those that are less fortunate as I always have, and to champion the issues facing our working families in District 6. That’s why we are a campaign driven by volunteers and small donations, and we are proud to take no corporate donations of any kind.
Thank you for your time, and I respectfully ask for your vote on June 5th.
